Two men have been arrested in connection with the May 21 bank robbery of American Marine Bank in Central Market, according to Poulsbo Police.
The men, ages 28 and 49, were arrested about 3 p.m. May 22 in Suquamish. Both are expected in Kitsap County Superior Court today at 3 p.m.
According to police and FBI sources, the two robbed the Central Market branch of American Marine Bank at 5:21 p.m. Thursday afternoon.
According to Robbie Burroughs, a spokesperson for the FBI in Seattle, the two men pulled up to Central Market’s loading dock in a pickup truck. The driver, whom police believe to be the younger of the two, got out of the truck and pulled a ski mask over his face. He went inside Central Market and pointed the weapon at a customer.
He then entered the American Marine Bank branch and ordered those inside the bank to get on the ground.
There were no reported injuries.
American Marine Bank was the third Poulsbo bank to be robbed in the last two months. On April 13, the Kitsap Credit Union on State Route 305 was robbed by a man wearing a pants suit. A man wearing a cowboy hat robbed Westsound Bank on Viking Avenue April 7. He was later arrested.
Neither of the April robberies involved weapons.Assistant Poulsbo Police Chief Shawn Delaney said the number of bank robberies is an uncommon trend and “it is of great concern.”
More information will be posted as it becomes available.
