PORT ORCHARD — Applicants for the position of Kitsap County District Court Judge Department No. 4 are being sought by the county board of commissioners.
The position will become vacant when Judge Stephen J. Holman retires June 30. Holman has served as district court judge since 2006.
Qualified applicants may submit a packet that includes four copies each of a letter of interest, a brief resume and a completed Uniform Judicial Evaluation Questionnaire, which can be found on the state governor’s website at www.governor.wa.gov under “judicial appointments.” Applicants for the district court judgeship position are not required to fill out section 13 of the judicial evaluation questionnaire.
Those who apply must be registered voters of Kitsap County and be admitted to practice law in the state of Washington.
After an initial screening, interviews are tentatively scheduled for mid-May with an appointment anticipated the first week of June. The deadline for applications is 4 p.m., Friday, May 12. Submissions must be delivered to the Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners Building, 619 Division St., Port Orchard, or submitted by mail to the clerk’s office, 619 Division St., MS-4, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
