Bail $150K for burglary in Poulsbo

Bail has been set at $150,000 for a 32-year-old Olympia man charged in Kitsap County Superior Court Dec. 9 in connection with a residential burglary in Poulsbo.

The man reportedly was staying with a woman and her boyfriend in the 1300 block of NE Gilmax Lane while he was going through a divorce. The man reportedly went into a 13-year-old daughter’s bedroom and said something inappropriate, which led to the woman telling him to leave.

He left but came back about an hour later. The woman had a gun and again told him to leave. They scuffled, and he took the gun away from her. He claimed the woman hit him on the head with the gun so he disarmed her.

Probable cause papers say police arrived at about 4:45 a.m. Dec. 8. The man reportedly admitted firing a gunshot into the ground. When he gave himself up he had a 9mm bullet in his mouth.

Because of a prior felony he was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree. Maximum sentence is five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine.
