Free concerts
Guitarist Keith Scott has two free upcoming concerts on Bainbridge Island.
The first is at 5 p.m. Nov. 3 at Eleven Winery, at 7671 N. Day Road. The second is at 5 p.m. Nov. 10 at Eagle Harbor Winery, 8897 Three Tree Lane NE.
Girls and robot
Bainbridge High School Spartronics had its first competition for the Girls Gen team, which finished 4-8-0.
Teams bring their competition robots from the previous season and compete in the same game. The key difference is that only girls and non-binary participants are allowed to operate the robot, drive the controls and perform maintenance.
While mentors and other team members may assist in an advisory capacity, the focus is on student leadership, providing participants with a platform to gain practical skills and experience. By giving STEM students hands-on experience in areas like mechanical design, driving, coding and troubleshooting, participants in Girls Gen gain confidence.
Treehouse Cafe
Andrew Duhon will perform at the Treehouse Cafe at 7 p.m. Nov. 2.
He’s a storyteller and soulful singer with roots in New Orleans. Cost is $30. Jazz Jam is now at 6:30 p.m. the last Thursday of each month. Trivia is at the same time but every Wednesday night. Coming up, the Dusty 45’s will perform Dec. 6 and Brothers Townsend Dec. 20.
