PORT ORCHARD – A Belfair woman died April 16 from injuries she sustained 10 days earlier when her vehicle went off the road and crashed into a tree on Highway 16 near Port Orchard.

Celiece M. Bothwell, 39, died at 12:45 p.m. at Tacoma General Hospital, Washington State Patrol reported.

The collision occurred at 4:57 a.m. April 6 near milepost 19, six miles east of Port Orchard. Bothwell was driving east in a 2000 Dodge Durango when, “for unknown reasons, the vehicle left the roadway to the right and struck a tree,” state patrol reported.

The cause of the crash remained under investigation April 16. According to records on a county online database, Bothwell was the mother of a four-year-old son. She formerly lived in Bremerton.

According to her social media account, Bothwell was a med rec tech — medication reconciliation technician — for CHI Franciscan Health. As a med tech rec, she compared a patient’s medication orders with the medications that the patient had been taking prior to admission to the hospital. According to PharmacyTimes.com, the med rec tech helps “avoid medication errors such as omissions, duplications, dosing errors, or drug–drug interactions.”

On her social media account, Bothwell reported that she had recently been transferred from St. Joseph Hospital to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton, working seven days on and seven days off.
