It’s the most wonderful time of the year and we’re hoping to carry on the spirit well into 2004. In order to accomplish this worthy goal and help out our less fortunate neighbors in North Kitsap, we’re again asking that folks take another look at donating to the annual Bellringer Fund.
The most recent count for the 2003 drive put donations at $13,406 — which puts it about $11,600 shy of the $25,000 goal with just a few weeks to go. We’re doing great but we can do better. Last year, the community came together for one of the most successful Bellringers in recent history. At this time in 2002, residents of North Kitsap and beyond had donated $19,075.
While we’re surely on target to attain our goal for the season, wouldn’t it be even better to go that extra step and shoot right by it? Why?
Bellringer is pretty unique as far as holiday fund-raisers go in that it keeps on giving to the less fortunate members of our community long after Christmas decorations have been taken down. It is a resource that assists families in getting back on their feet when they need it most.
In fact, donations given in 2002 are being used to help your friends and neighbors here in December 2003. We hope the community will respond in kind to ensure those in need have the same support next year.
