PORT ORCHARD — If you’re a regular user of the Bethel-Mile Hill roundabout during late night and early morning hours, be prepared to encounter some delays in the vicinity of that location next Monday and Tuesday.
Crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will close both roadways approaching the roundabout over consecutive nights. The night closures will allow crews to work on upgrades to the sidewalk curb ramps so they meet current ADA standards.
The work is being completed in advance of upcoming paving of the state highway between Whittier Avenue Southeast and Maple Avenue. A signed detour will be in place via Mitchell Avenue.
The roundabout closure and detour will be in operation from 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, May 20-21, until 7 a.m. each following day.
