Three finalists have been selected for the interim superintendent position in the Central Kitsap School District.
The board elected to bring in for interviews Hazel Bauman, superintendent of Coeur d’Alene School District in Idaho; Larry Parsons, superintendent of Roseburg schools in Oregon; and Steve Rowley, chief academic officer for Tukwila School District.
The district would not release the names of the seven applicants who did not make the cut.
The board will interview Parsons and Rowley in a special session on Tuesday, May 7, beginning at 5 p.m. Bauman’s interview will take place on Sunday, May 5, at 2 p.m. as she was unavailable on Tuesday.
The interviews are scheduled to take place in open session, and members of the public are welcome to attend. Board President Mark Gaines said community members who attend will be given comment cards on which they may write down their thoughts and impressions.
Gaines said no time in the meeting will be given for verbal comment from the community.
