The Bremerton Police Department was dispatched to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton at 7:36 a.m. for a report of a bomb in a vehicle parked in front of the emergency room entrance.
Officers arrived and discovered a vehicle parked in front of the emergency room. Officers observed an object that looked like an improvised explosive device. With the assistance of Harrison Medical Center staff, officers immediately established a safe zone around the vehicle and requested the assistance of the Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad.
The bomb squad arrived on scene and removed the device.
A 43-year-old Poulsbo woman was taken into custody at Harrison Medical Center for possession of an explosive device. She will be booked into the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office jail on $100,000 bail.
During the investigation, it was learned that there may be additional devices located in the woman’s home, located in the 1800 block of Lincoln Ave. Poulsbo.
The Poulsbo Police Department responded to the residence and established a safe zone around the woman’s home. During this process, they evacuated an unknown number of residences.
The Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad has been notified and is en route to the Poulsbo address to look for additional devices.
