Both Silverdale and Bremerton have Halloween events in store for kids and grown-ups alike this month.

Bremerton Parks and Recreation is hosting its annual Halloween Party from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Sheridan Park Community Center. The free event will include a pie and costume contest with prizes, carnival games and a DJ. Those who bring a can of food for the Bremerton Foodline will receive a free photo by Elaine Turso Photography.

The Kitsap Mall will host its first “Well Read Well Fed” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Local businesses and community leaders will read their favorite children’s stories throughout the day. There is also a book drive, collecting new or gently used books now until Sunday. The first 1,000 children to visit the Saturday event will receive a goody bag with a new book.

The Admiral Theatre in Bremerton will screen “The Shining” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $7.

The Kitsap Haunted Fairgrounds will run through Sunday. The lights on hour for younger children is 5 to 6 p.m. each day. The “full scare” is 6 to 11 p.m. every day except Sunday, when it will run from 6 to 10 p.m. Regular admission is $12. Canned food donations will take $1 off the ticket price.

The Minder Farm corn maze in East Bremerton is open through Sunday. It runs 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday. The maze takes about 45 minutes to an hour to complete. Admission is $8 adults, $6 children, free for those 4 and under. The farm offers military discounts with ID. Minder Farm is located at 1000 Glud’s Pond Road NE.

Pheasant Fields Farm in Sil-verdale is hosting several Halloween-themed events this month.

The family fun cornfield maze is open daily from noon to 6 p.m. until Sunday. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children.

The Wild Woods haunted farm will be open 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Witches, ghosts and goblins await guests who walk the haunted corn maze and wander the spooky woods. These are supervised 30-minute events, no reservations required. Children under 12 years must be accompanied by an adult. Cost is $7.50.

Pheasant Fields Farm is located at 13274 Clear Creek Road Northwest, Silverdale.

The Bremerton Historical Ships Association is hosting a Haunted Ship aboard the USS Turner Joy to raise money for the maintenance and restoration of the Vietnam War-era Navy destroyer. The Halloween Haunted Ship will be open from 5 to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday on the Bremerton boardwalk. Admission is $7.
