The pool is set to open on Monday, April 7, after extensive upgrades costing $1.7 million.

From the Facebook page of Naval Base Kitsap:

MWR is pleased to announce the re-opening of the Bremerton Aquatics Center on April 7. Operating hours for this facility will be Monday-Friday 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be a ribbon cutting on April 7 at 8:30 a.m.

The $1.7 million project included extensive upgrades designed to bring the Aquatics Center up-to-date and ensure smooth operation into the future. These renovations included replacing and upgrading piping, electrical, heating, filtration and water flow systems, as well as replacement of the pool and spa chemical controllers. The spa was also resurfaced, retiled and the dehumidifier system was replaced.

New LED lighting systems were also installed. The new lighting, with day-lighting controls, will be more energy efficient and provide better lighting in the pool and spa areas.
