The Bremerton Summer BrewFest planned for July has been rescheduled to no longer conflict with Silverdale’s Whaling Days.
Carlos Jara, president of the Downtown Bremerton Association and one of the event’s organizers, said the date change from July 30 to July 23 will allow the festival to have access to resources, such as refrigeration equipment, that might be committed to Whaling Days. The BrewFest will plan around Whaling Days in future years.
The event, which will run from noon to 9 p.m., will feature about 24 breweries and take over a portion of Pacific Avenue.
Downtown hotels and the Bremerton Marina expect to be booked the weekend of the BrewFest, Jara said.
“It should be pretty exciting,” he said.
Organizers are now pursuing sponsors and a website is in the works. Meanwhile, the event has a Facebook fan page called “Bremerton Summer BrewFest.”
