Bremerton City Council committee, board assignments announced

Bremerton City Council President Greg Wheeler has announced committee assignments for 2013.

Bremerton City Council President Greg Wheeler has announced committee assignments for 2013.

Nick Wofford will serve on the Lodging Tax Advisory Committee, Wheeler will serve on the Police Pension Board and Eric Younger will serve on the Fire Pension Board. Each of these groups meets quarterly. Wheeler will also serve as an alternate to Mayor Patty Lent on the Kitsap Economic Development Alliance, a group that also meets quarterly.

Here’s a quick look at some of the other committee assignments:

The Finance and Invest Committee, which typically meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m., will include Eric Younger (Chair), Leslie Daugs (Vice Chair) and Jim McDonald

Serving on the Public Works Committee, which meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30 p.m., will be Adam Brockus (Chair), Carol Arends (Vice Chair) and Faye Flemister.

The Public Safety and Parks (PSP) Committee, which meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 3:30 p.m., will include Leslie Daugs (Chair), Wendy Priest (Vice Chair) and Eric Younger.

The Audit Committee, meeting on the second Thursday of the month at 4 p.m., will include Carol Arends (Chair), Younger and Daugs as an alternate.

Daugs will also serve on the Parks and Recreation Funding Task Force, a group that meets on the third Thursday of the month at 4:30 p.m., and McDonald will serve on the Gorst Creek Watershed Comp Plan Advisory Committee, a group that meets as needed.

Serving on the Cen-Com Policy Board, a group that meets bi-monthly on the third Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will be Arends and Wheeler. Arends will also serve on the Cen-Com Executive Committee, which meets bi-monthly on the third Wednesday from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

Wofford will serve on the Kitsap Transit Policy Board and the Kitsap Transit Planning Sub Committee, the former meets from 8:30 to 11:15 a.m. on the third Tuesday and the latter meets on the last Friday of the month at 9 a.m.

Wheeler, Flemister and Daugs (alternate) will serve on the Kitsap Regional Coordinating Council (KRCC) Executive Board, which meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month (with the exception of April, August and December) from 9 to 10 a.m. for a study session followed by a board meeting from 10 a.m. to noon. Arends and Wofford will serve on the KRCC Transportation Policy Committee which meets from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month. Flemister will serve on the KRCC Housing advisory (HAT) and Low Income Housing board a group that meets on the second Wednesday from 1:30 to 3 p.m.

Puget Sound Regional Council slots, which are appointed by KRCC and the mayor, include the following: Arends and Lent (alternate) will sit on the Executive Board and Operations Committee; Arends and Wofford (alternate) will serve on the Transportation Policy Board; Wheeler and Daugs (alternate) will serve on the Growth Management Board.

Lastly, Mayor Lent appointed Wofford to sit on the Peninsula Regional Transportation Planning Organization (PRTPO) and Wheeler to serve on the Kitsap Community Resources Board of Directors.
