Bremerton police detectives arrested a medical doctor at an east Bremerton clinic today and charged him with rape in the second degree.

Dr. Darren M. Chotiner, 46, was arrested following reports from two victims who alleged Chotiner violated them sexually during examinations. Both victims initially sought help for back pain.

During those visits and examinations Chotiner allegedly physically contacted them in a sexual manner and continued to advance himself upon each victim.

Chotiner is expected to make his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon. Bail has been set at $50,000.

Police Detectives investigated the allegations in conjunction with the Washington State Medical Commission. Investigators believe Chotiner has been practicing medicine in Washington State since 2007.

Detectives are continuing to investigate in order to determine whether or not there may be additional victims.
