A Bremerton High School student was taken to juvenile detention Feb. 18 after harassing a bus driver, threatening a school security officer and trashing the school’s administrative office.

Police were called to the school at 2:41 p.m. on reports of an out-of-control student, according to police reports. A vice principal told police the boy caused a disturbance on the school bus, calling the driver vulgar names. When school security intervened, he was physically aggressive, screaming within an inch of an officer’s face, calling her derogatory names and chest-bumping her several times. After the boy was taken to the front office, he pushed over the vice principal’s computer speakers, threw his own MP3 player against the wall, threw office paperwork all over the lobby and kicked over the coffee table.

The boy’s grandmother later told police he had not been taking his medication for bi-polar disorder because it made him sick.

He was taken to the Kitsap County juvenile detention center for investigation of malicious harassment, malicious mischief and interference by force or violence.
