A Washington State trooper was forced to use his Taser early Friday, April 25 after a Bremerton man failed to comply with his commands.
The trooper stopped the 27-year-old Bremerton man at 2:45 a.m. for speeding near Trenton Avenue in Bremerton. The trooper believed the man was driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor. When the trooper advised the driver he was under arrest for DUI, the driver became agitated and and refused the troopers’ repeated commands. The suspect was given several warnings that a Taser would be deployed and he began to taunt the trooper. The trooper deployed the Taser and the man was taken into custody with help from Bremerton Police. Neither the trooper nor the suspect were injured.
The man was booked into Kitsap County Jail for DUI and resisting arrest.
