Bremerton man found dead after departing SK party

The Kitsap County Coroner’s Office has positively identified a body found Saturday around 1:30 p.m. as 22-year-old Timothy James Huson, of Bremerton, who went missing near Alpine Lake in South Kitsap.

The official cause of death hasn’t yet been determined.

Huson excused himself from a house party in the 11400 block of Alpine Drive SW, which started on Jan. 27 and continued past midnight.

“From what we can determine,” said Deputy Scott Wilson, spokesman for the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office, “he was highly intoxicated, went outside to answer the call of nature and then just never came back.

“Those hosting the party stated that, when Huson didn’t return to the house, they drove around the area and checked the woods but were unable to locate him,” said Wilson. “They believed that Huson probably obtained a ride from someone and left.”

Huson’s step-father and brother filed a missing person report on Feb. 2, and search-and-rescue efforts began that day between 6:30 and 11 p.m.

Participating units included Underwater Search-and-Rescue Volunteers of Kitsap County, German Shepherd Search Dogs of Washington State, Washington Explorer Search-and-Rescue and All-Breeds Canine Search-and-Rescue Group of Kitsap County.

They were unsuccessful in locating the body.

A passerby saw the body about 50 feet off the road on Feb. 5, according to Wilson.

The Kitsap County Coroner’s Office is waiting for toxicology lab results from Huson’s autopsy to officially determine his cause of death.

The samples were sent on Feb. 7, and it typically takes around 10 weeks for results to return.
