Bremerton man killed, sheriff seeks suspect

CENTRAL KITSAP – Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking assistance from the public as they track a man wanted in connection with an apparent homicide that occurred around 4:22 p.m. Jan. 29.

CENTRAL KITSAP – Kitsap County Sheriff’s detectives are seeking assistance from the public as they track a man wanted in connection with an apparent homicide that occurred around 4:22 p.m. Jan. 29.

Sheriff’s patrol deputies responded to a residence in the Camelot Mobile Home Park, 5307 State Highway 303 NE, in Central Kitsap, concerning a 911 report of a possible stabbing.

The initial report was made at 4:22 p.m. Patrol deputies arrived on-scene at 4:29 p.m. Emergency first aid was provided by Central Kitsap Fire & Rescue.

Sheriff’s detectives have confirmed that a deceased adult male was located inside the premises of the mobile home. The identity and age of the victim are not yet confirmed.

Detectives have identified Dustin Robert Cupp, 31, of Bremerton, as a primary suspect. Cupp is a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

Other persons in the mobile home park are being interviewed as possible witnesses. No persons are yet in custody.

A sheriff’s K-9 team and patrol deputies are conducting a search of the area.

According to court documents, Cupp had been previously charged with possession of methamphetamine, a felony, in June, 2015. A Washington State Patrol trooper pulled Cupp over because Cupp was allegedly driving while talking on his cell phone. Methamphetamine, heroin and drug paraphernalia were allegedly found in Cupp’s possession during the stop.

Also in June, 2015, Cupp was charged with assault in the fourth degree after he allegedly injured a woman’s hand during an argument.
