A 26-year-old Bremerton man reported June 2 that he had his lawn mower and weed eater stolen after lending it to someone he thought was a neighbor.
The man, who lives on the 800 block of Roosevelt Avenue, loaned his lawn mower and weed eater May 28 to a man who came to his residence and asked to borrow the items after saying he lives a few houses down the street. After a few hours passed, the 26-year-old went looking for the man and knocked on nearby doors. After five hours went by and not finding the man, the 26-year-old realized he had been tricked.
The total value of the two stolen items is $650. A police officer checked the pawn shop data base for the stolen items but was unable to locate them.
