BREMERTON — Bremerton Mayor Patty Lent was selected by the Alliance of Women Owned Businesses as one of three judges for the Crystal Star Awards.  The other judges are David A. Zeeck, president  and publisher of the Tacoma News Tribune, and Pierce County Auditor Julie Anderson.

Two awards will be presented: the Crystal Star Award, for a woman business owner who has demonstrated through leadership, perseverance and vision what she can bring to her business and community; and the Rising Star Award, for an outstanding entrepreneur who has owned her business for less than five years.

Nominations are being accepted until March 1 (visit www.allianceofwomenownedbusinesses.com).  The judges will review the submissions and interview the finalists in April. The winners will be honored as a gala May 17 at Canterwood Country Club in Gig Harbor.

The Alliance of Women Owned Businesses brings together women engaged in a wide variety of business enterprises across the community and offers them the opportunity to share concerns and glean ideas that will take their business to the next level.
