A juvenile is in police custody after threatening students and faculty at Bremerton High School through a 911 call.
The school was notified of a call placed by a student that the school says indicated a possible shooting. The high school posted that it went into lockdown around 10 a.m. Sept. 22 while Bremerton police responded. Nearby Olympic College was also put on high alert.
The lockdown was lifted at 11:15 a.m. Police said the juvenile was arrested on scene, and the school responded in an appropriate and timely manner.
The school released a statement as the lockdown was lifted saying, “We know going into lockdown is stressful and can be scary, even traumatic for students and for staff, but we have to take every threat seriously.”
BHS principal Ryan Nickels said the investigation will determine if any disciplinary action will be taken.
