Port commissioners for the Port of Bremerton are expected to discuss and select a fourth committee member to take part in the selection of the next CEO for the port.
Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the Port Administration Building, 8850 Highway 3, Bremerton.
Current CEO Tim Thomson has announced his retirement effective Dec. 31, 2013. The port has published the job description and is accepting applications.
Larry Stokes, chairman, said the commission will select an independent fourth person to work alongside the three commissioners in reviewing the applications and making a determination which candidates to interview.
This independent person, described as a business person from the community, is expected to be named at the meeting Tuesday.
The commission hopes to have a new CEO by Dec. 1.During a work session, commissioners will hear a report from the Bremerton Motorsports Park related to its lease with the port.
