A 66-year-old Bremerton woman accidentally drove her Volvo sedan into the North Kitsap Medical Center in Poulsbo on Monday, making it the second time in a month Poulsbo Fire has responded to a car-into-building scene.
According to a statement from the fire department, the woman was pulling into the medical center parking lot at the corner of Bond Road and State Highway 305 just before 4 p.m. when she mistakenly “slammed” into the building. The woman was uninjured and was the only person in the car. Firefighters said the center was busy at the time of the crash. The department also reported no structural damage to the building, though two large windows were shattered.
The car appeared to be totaled.
Poulsbo Police are investigating the incident.
A similar instance occurred Jan. 19, when a 77-year-old woman confused her gas pedal for her brake and smashed into Dahlquist’s Fine Jewelry on Poulsbo’s Seventh Avenue.
