Bremerton woman injured in fatal Belfair crash

BELFAIR – A Belfair driver was killed after being struck by another vehicle while making a U-turn on State Route 106 west of Belfair Dec. 18.

BELFAIR – A Belfair driver was killed after being struck by another vehicle while making a U-turn on State Route 106 west of Belfair Dec. 18.

According to the Washington State Patrol, the driver parked a 2010 Honda CRV SUV on the westbound shoulder of SR106 on a curve around 11:17 a.m. The driver had an 84-year-old female passenger, also of Belfair.

About that time, a 33-year-old Bremerton woman was traveling westbound on SR106 in a 2001 Ford Escape SUV.

The driver of the Honda attempted to make a U-turn in front of the Ford, causing the Ford to strike the driver’s side of the Honda.

The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name of the driver has not been released pending notification of next-of-kin.

The Belfair passenger and the Bremerton woman were transported to Harrison Medical Center.

Both SUVs were totaled. No charges were filed.
