PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap Transit has scheduled three “in-person workshops” at locations around the county to gather input from residents on how to improve the transportation system.
The agency said in a news release that it is “taking a fresh look at our bus routes and services to ensure we provide safe, reliable and efficient transportation choices to meet emerging community needs.”
The route analysis it’s undertaking will factor in data on ridership patterns, community input and projected population growth in Kitsap County.
Port Orchard is the first location for the workshop series. It will be at the South Kitsap Fire and Rescue Station 8, 1974 Fircrest Dr. SE, on Wednesday, May 17. Meeting time runs from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
On Monday, May 22, Bremerton will be the site for the second meeting. Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., will host the session from 5:30-7:30 p.m. And on Wednesday, May 31, the final meeting will take place in Poulsbo at North Viking Transit Center, 21992 Viking Ave. NW, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Residents who can’t attend in person can provide feedback online at kitsaptransit.participate.online until June 5. Those who attend or take Kitsap Transit’s survey will have a chance to win a $250 VISA gift card, transit officials said.
