Small farming business course in Bremerton:

Beginning Jan. 19, the Washington State University Extension in Kitsap County will offer a 12-week course on starting and sustaining a profitable small farm. Both beginning farmers and current growers will gain skills in business planning, marketing and record-keeping. Guest lecturers will include bankers, accountants, attorneys and successful farm owners. The course is $225 and will be from 6:30 to 9 p.m. every Wednesday in room 406 of the Norm Dicks Center, 345 Sixth Street, Bremerton.

Naval Undersea Museum to celebrate life of Martin Luther King, Jr.:

The Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport will have a celebration honoring the life and work of Martin Luther King, Jr. from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 12. Rev. Richmond Johnson, pastor for Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Bremerton, will be the keynote speaker and the event will also include dance and musical performances. Manette History Club meeting:

Manette History Club will meet at 1 p.m. Jan. 4 in the social room of Manette Community Church, 1137 Hayward Ave., Bremerton. The meeting will be on Sandra Carlson’s “Violet E. Carlson: Her Story.”
