Tracyton Community Library to kick off summer reading program The Tracyton Community Library will kick off its summer reading program with a party June 23 with treats and a project. This summer’s theme is “Under the Big Top” and the program is open to all children. Participating children will receive a free book after reading 10 books and there will be an ice cream party in August to conclude the program. Kitsap Senior Singles

Kitsap Senior Singles will meet for a potluck at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 26 on the first floor of the Willows Senior Apartments, 3201 Pine Road NE. Central Kitsap Community Council Town Hall meeting

The Central Kitsap Community Council will hold a Town Hall meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 at the Island Lake Community Room, 1099 NW Island Lake Road. The focus of the meeting will be on state budgets for 2011-2013 and their effects on the state, county and schools. The agenda is posted at www.kitsapgov.com/dcd/ckcc.

International Military Band Concert in Bremerton

An International Military Band Concert is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26 at Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center. Admission is free although tickets are required as seating is limited. To reserve tickets, call (360) 315-3447 or email NavyBandNW.cnrnw@navy.mil.

‘Music in Motion’ performance

Students of Irene’s School of Dance in Silverdale will perform “Music in Motion,” at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 2 p.m. Sunday. The program will run for two hours and will include ballet, pointe, jazz, hip-hop, tap, contemporary, modern, Zumba and baton. Dancers range in age from 3 years old to seniors.

All performances are at the Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center and cost $5. Tickets will be available at the door. For more information, call (360) 692-4395.

Babysitter’s training classes at the American Red Cross

The American Red Cross’ babysitter’s training classes are designed for youth ages 11 to 15 that include hands-on activities, an instructional video, role-playing and discussions. Two classes will be offered at the Bremerton site, one on July 16 and another on August 13.For more information or to register, call (360) 377-3761.

AARP Driver Safety Course

Country Meadows in Silverdale will sponsor an AARP Driver Safety Course June 21 and 22 at its community center. Attendance is required both days from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. The course is open to the public. The cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members. Most insurance companies will offer discounts to those who complete the class. Admiral Theatre camp in July

Registration is open for a two-week musical theater camp in July offered by the Admiral Theatre in downtown Bremerton. The camp is designed for youth ages 4 though 18 and will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, July 18 through Saturday, July 30. After the series of daily workshops in singing, acting and dancing, camp participants will present musical theater performances.
