Kitsap Democratic Women monthly meeting:
The Kitsap Democratic Women will meet on Wednesday, March 23 in the Red Barn of Country Meadows, 12295 Schold Place NW, Silverdale. The featured speaker will be Denny Hamilton from Training Associates Pacific, who will discuss humanitarian topics in the Middle East. Hamilton will begin his remarks at 11:30 a.m. with the luncheon and business meeting to follow. The group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month for a no-host luncheon and discussion of important issues and current events. The meetings are open to the public. Hearing Loss Association meeting:
Hearing Loss Association of Kitsap County is scheduled to meet from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Iris Room at the Silverdale Harrison Hospital, 1800 Myhre Road. People will learn how to protect against misdiagnosis at Michael Bower’s presentation, “Dementia vs. Hearing Loss.” Hearing Loss Association of Kitsap County is affiliated with the Hearing Loss Association of America and is a support and advocacy group. The group meets the third Saturday of the month from September through May. The meetings are free and open to the public. College planning day for high schoolers at OC:
Olympic College will host the 2011 Washington Council for High School College Relations College Planning Day from 9 a.m. to noon March 22. This is a chance for high school students to meet with college representatives and ask questions about admission requirements, academic programs, scholarships and general college life. Representatives from various colleges and universities in Washington State will be in attendance. All high school students from Kitsap are invited to attend.
