NATIVE PLANTS & SHORELINES :Stillwaters will host the WSU Extension, Master Gardeners, & Kitsap Shore Stewards for five-week classes from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays from Sept. 10 to Oct. 8. Each week, you will cover a different subject for one full day. Subjects include the use of native plants in your landscape; noxious weeds; plant taxonomy; silviculture of native trees; shoreline restoration; integrated pest management; native grasses. ‘COFFEEHOUSE ANGEL’: Local writer Suzanne Selfors will celebrate the release of her fourth novel, “Coffeehouse Angel,” at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at Hot Shots Java in downtown Poulsbo. The story takes place in Poulsbo and one of the leading characters is a member of the Suquamish Tribe. “Coffeehouse Angel” is recommended for ages 12 and up.

NK FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARY: The North Kitsap Friends of the Library meets at 9:30 a.m. on Sept. 14 in the Poulsbo Library meeting room. Guests and new members are welcome. A program will be presented and refreshments served.
