The League of Women Voters of Kitsap will host free public candidate forums prior to the Aug. 5 primary election. All forums will take place at the Norm Dicks Center, 345 Sixth St., Bremerton. Interested citizens are invited to attend and to bring their questions for the candidates.

Here is the schedule for the forums:

Monday, July 14, 6:30 p.m.: 6th District, U.S. Congress

Participating candidates: W. McPherson (I), Marty McClendon (R), Douglas Milholland (Green)

Monday, July 21, 6:30 p.m.: 35th Legislative District, State Senator

Participating candidates: Irene Bowling (D), Travis Couture (R), Tim Sheldon (D)

Monday, July 21, 7:30 p.m.: 35th Legislative District, State Rep, Position 1

Participating candidates: Kathy Haigh (D), Dan Griffey (R), Josiah Rowell (R)

Tuesday, July 22, 6:30 p.m.: Kitsap Prosecuting Attorney

Participating candidates: Russ Hauge (D), Tina Robinson (R), Bruce Danielson (I), Bob Scales (D)

Tuesday, July 22, 7:30 p.m.: Kitsap Assessor

Participating candidates: Paul Andrews (D), W. Sean Smith (R), Gary Sobeck (D), Phil Cook (R)

Monday, July 28, 6:30 p.m.: 26th Legislative District, State Rep, Position 1
