KINGSTON — On Jan. 26, you and your entire family are invited to an extra special event.

Your library staff and neighbors are working to bring you a new library within a new community center building at the Village Green. Visit the future building site at 3 p.m., and at 4 p.m. come to the library to warm up with delicious local fare and festivities. We’ll have activities for all ages. AT THE KINGSTON BRANCH

— Kingston Book Group: Jan. 2, 10:30 a.m. We will be discussing “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak.

—Friends of the Library: Jan. 8, 10-11 a.m. in the Indianola Room. You’re invited to participate in this volunteer organization that supports the Kingston Branch. They will be at the kick-off festivities as well.

—Writers Group: Jan. 8 and 22, 6:30 p.m. Enjoy a friendly, supportive atmosphere to encourage writing. We want to read what you want to write: poetry, nonfiction, fiction, or memoir. Beginners welcome.

—Legos at the Library: Jan. 10, 3-5 p.m. If you love Legos, grab a friend and head to the library for an afternoon of free play or a challenge if you are up to it! For tweens and children.

—Preschool Storytime: Jan. 16, 23 and 30, 10:30-11 a.m. Come enjoy a morning full of stories, songs, rhymes, and fun with our youth services librarian, Whitney! Especially for children 3-5 accompanied by a caregiver. Siblings welcome.

—Stuffed Animal Library Sleepover: Jan. 25, 1-6 p.m. Drop off only stuffed animals. Do you wonder what happens in the library at night? This night, it’s a slumber party for stuffed animals! On Friday, children can drop off a stuffed animal or doll at the library, and on Saturday you can come to pick it up between 1-6 p.m. This event works best with a not-so-favorite stuffed animal that a child can easily live without for 24 hours.

—Building Activities for Youth: Jan. 26, 4-5:30 p.m. As part of our kick off, we’ll have a Creation Station where youth can imagine and create their dream library.

—Classics Book Group: Jan. 28, 6:30 p.m. Discussion will be on “The Maltese Falcon” by Dashiell Hammett.
