Carnel ‘Duke’ Weightman | Passages

He served as chief of police and chief deputy sheriff in Dumas, Texas for several years before moving to Concord, where he eventually retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard.

POULSBO — Duke Weightman of Poulsbo, a long-time resident of Concord, Calif., passed away on Nov. 7. He touched many lives with his gentle spirit and positive outlook on life.

Duke was born in Hollis, Okla., on Oct. 1, 1926. He served as chief of police and chief deputy sheriff in Dumas, Texas for several years before moving to Concord, where he eventually retired from Mare Island Naval Shipyard. Duke, along with Shirley, his wife of 65 years, moved to Poulsbo, where they have lived for the past four years.

Duke is survived by his wife, four children, nine grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
