Celebrate Native American culture with Central Kitsap School District

Native American Heritage Month culminates in evening of culture and celebration.

Central Kitsap School District (CKSD) invites families and community members to join its celebration of the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans.

The CKSD Indian Education Department will host Native American Culture Night on Tuesday, Nov. 27, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the Klahowya Secondary School Auditorium.

The evening will include several exciting performances and displays, including:

Burke Museum – Native Cultures Display

Canoe Family Singers – Port Gamble S’Klallam Singers/Dancers

Central Kitsap Schools – Native American Projects

Flute Players – Tom Duke and Leah Kyaio

Healthy Families – Display

Jingle Dancer – Angelina Nockai

Kitsap Historical Museum – Native American Display

Master Weaver – Mary Lou Slaughter, Duwamish

Naval Museum – Native American Display

Roger Fernandez – Story Teller/Singer/Drummer

Sacred Water – James Old Coyote and the Suquamish Singers/Dancers

South Puget Intertribal Planning Agency – Display

 

Authentic Native desserts and refreshments will be served.
