PORTLAND — Brittany Healy-Tuke of Silverdale recently graduated from the University of Portland with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.
MOSCOW, IDAHO — Sara Nash of Silverdale and Miranda Carman of Bremerton recently graduated from the University of Idaho. Nash earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and Carman graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English.
DEAN’S LIST
COLUMBIA, MO. — Tonya Benson and Rosendo Deguzman of Silverdale were named to Columbia College’s dean’s list for March 2008. Students must have completed 12 semester hours and achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or greater to be named to the dean’s list.
AWARD WINNERS
Tracyton resident and sixth-grader Andrew Kain has been recognized as a Johns Hopkins Scholar and presented with the “State Award with Highest Honors.” He is a student at Silverwood School, an independent school located on Central Valley Road. He is the son of Chris and Helene Kain. He and fellow Silverwood classmates Keith Christen and Christina Goessman, both of Poulsbo, and former classmate Olivia Mansker-Stoker of Poulsbo, were selected based on test scores taken through Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. FREE WEDDINGS
The congregation of Central Kitsap Christian Church, a non-denominational Christian Church located at 6735 Stampede Blvd. in Bremerton, is providing an opportunity for up to six couples, twice annually — spring and fall, to get married for free.
This includes free use of the church facilities for the wedding ceremony, including ministry staff to perform a beautiful Christian ceremony. A one-hour cake and punch reception also is available, but no alcohol is allowed.
