Central Kitsap school board elections getting interesting

Three seats are up for election from Central Kitsap and all three will be contested.

Prior to the filing period the race for Central Kitsap School Board’s district four seat looked to be the most interesting. Now it seems all three seats up for election will be contested.

Jeanie Schulze and Victoria Crescenzi have both filed to run for the CKSD district four seat. Schulze will run as the incumbent. She was appointed to the position earlier this month after Christy Cathcart vacated the seat.

Both Schulze and Crescenzi had applied to be appointed to the district four seat. Schulze won the appointment in a 3-1 vote of the school board. Eric Green was the lone dissenting vote.

For district one, incumbent Bruce Richards will face a challenger. Regina Hill filed to run Thursday afternoon.

Eric Green also will face an opponent for district five. Carrie Riplinger filed Thursday evening to run for the district that covers most of Seabeck.
