POULSBO — A handful of peanut products have been pulled from the shelves of Central Market.

Michael Latham, director of Food Safety for Central Market, said the peanut products were pulled from the shelves as a precautionary, proactive measure. The peanut products in question were purchased from the Peanut Corp. of America, according to the Food and Drug Administration, and may pose a salmonella risk.

The recall is part of a national recall that dates back to January, Latham said.

“No one, in any of our stores, has called in with any concerns or complaints that they got sick from any of the recalled products,” he said. “This is a precautionary, voluntary thing to keep the public safe.”

According the Associated Press, the products included roasted and raw peanuts, as well as bulk trail mix and self-grind peanut butter.
