Charges are pending against a driver in a two-car accident that sent three people to the hospital on Mother’s Day.
According to Washington State Patrol, the collision happened Mat 12 near the intersection of Lake Flora Road and Highway 3, and the investigation partially blocked the road for several hours.
State troopers reported a 40-year-old Allyn man failed to stop his 1996 Mercury Mystique at a stop sign at the intersection of Lake Flora Road and Highway 3.
A 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by a 29-year-old Port Orchard man, slide across the highway to avoid the Mercury, but struck it in the southbound lane.
A passenger in the Pontiac, a 29-year-old Port Orchard woman, was also injured in the accident. All three people were taken to Harrison Medical Center in Bremerton.
Both vehicles were totaled.
