A 25-year-old Central Kitsap woman sustained significant injuries during a strong-armed robbery at a Silverdale bank early Saturday morning.
The victim, a manager of a local fast food restaurant, was making a night drop deposit at a bank in the 10500 block of Silverdale Way NW June 28 when she was attacked by a male wearing a black knit face mask, a black-colored sweater jacket, blue jeans and white athletic shoes.
Her attacker ran toward her and knocked her to the ground, repeatedly striking her while she was on the ground. The suspect grabbed her bank deposit bags and fled across an adjacent parking area. The victim returned to her place of employment and called 911.
Sheriff’s patrol deputies deployed a K-9 in an effort to find the woman’s assailant, without success. The amount of money obtained in the robbery has not been disclosed.
The victim said she believed the suspect is a white male, about 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, with a medium build. She added that she did not see anyone as she approached the bank’s night deposit drawer until she caught a glimpse of her attacker, in her peripheral vision, as she walked toward the drawer.
The investigation into this robbery remains open. Anyone with information is asked to contact sheriff’s detectives at (360) 337-7111 or via 911.
