SUQUAMISH — For the past year, guests at Suquamish Clearwater Casino Resort have collected one themed bear each month.

From Sept. 1-7, Clearwater is asking guests to bring in as many of the stuffed bears as they can and donate them to the Hug A Bear Drive. Those who did not collect the bears can bring in any stuffed toy for donation.

Bears collected in the Hug A Bear Drive will go to Toys for Tots, local law enforcement agencies and the Suquamish Tribe. Toys for Tots will receive bears for its annual toy drive. Local law enforcement agencies will receive bears to give to children by officers in the field. The Suquamish Tribe will receive bears to give children at the Wellness Center and in the Tribe’s foster care system. Barrels will be provided inside the casino from Sept. 1-7 and guests choose which charity they would like to donate to.

Guests who donate will receive one drawing entry for every bear or stuffed toy brought in. A car will be given way on Sept. 7. There will be six $500 cash drawings between 3 and 8 p.m. that day and the grand prize car drawing will be at 8:30 p.m.
