Hospice gala back at the Admiral Theatre
Tickets are on sale for Hospice of Kitsap County’s annual fundraising gala, The Spellbinders Ball. The elegant, circus-themed party will be at Bremerton’s historic Admiral Theatre at 6 p.m. on Oct. 18. Funds raised during the event are used to help provide hospice care in Kitsap County.
The evening will begin with a complimentary champagne cocktail reception in the lobby of the historic theatre. Guests can enjoy live music from Crow Quill Night Owls, a Port Townsend-based string band dedicated to the revival and preservation of pre-war American music, while previewing prizes for the exclusive, high-end drawing. The reception will be followed by dinner and a stage program that includes trapeze artists Duo Volta and the juggling artistry of Nikolai Pirak.
The Spellbinders Ball also features an exciting, high-stakes drawing for 10 highly valued gift baskets. With only 100 tickets available for purchase at $25 each, attendees will have a very good chance of winning one of the coveted prizes. Attendees will also have the opportunity to “Raise the Paddle”, becoming a part of the story of Hospice of Kitsap County by supporting our programs and services with a donation.
Cost to attend The Spellbinders Ball is $75 per person, which includes a complimentary champagne cocktail and a seasonal three course dinner. Seniors to host craft fair Oct. 17 and 18
Bremerton Senior Center is hosting a craft fair Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Oct. 18, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Sheridan Park Community Center, 680 Lebo Blvd., in Bremerton.
Hand-crafted items will be for sale from more than 90 vendors. There will be food and festive holiday music and there is no admission fee.
The crafts and baked goods were made by members of the Bremerton Seniors. There will be a raffle of gift baskets, too, and tickets will be available at the door.

Silverdale Estates to host craft fair
Residents of the Silverdale Estates mobile home park will have a craft fair from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at the park which is off Central Valley Road. The mobile home park is at 160 N.E. Saturn Lane.
Kitsap Senior Singles to meet
Kitsap Senior Singles will meet for a potluck at 1 p.m. Oct. 19 at at The Willows, 3201 Pine Road N.E. in East Bremerton. The group meets on the first floor. Bring a favorite dish to share. Harvest dinner set at Olympic College
The sixth annual Kitsap Grown Harvest Dinner will be at the Olympic College Bremer Student Center on Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m.
The dinner brings together Kitsap farms, wineries and breweries with the area’s top chefs, all in celebration of local food.
The Harvest Dinner is led by Chef Chris Plemmons, nationally acclaimed chef and culinary educator at Olympic College, and Chef Monica Downen, owner of Monica’s Waterfront Bakery and Cafe in Silverdale.
Altogether, 10 local chefs will be helping prepare this feast of Kitsap,.
There will be a keynote speaker, silent auction, live music, no-host bar, and a 50/50 raffle, with all proceeds benefitting the Kitsap Community & Agricultural Alliance.

Chiropractic Lifestyle Center Takes on Growing Role in Fighting Disease
Chiropractic Lifestyle Center, will launch of a free series of classes that addresses the causes of disease. Kieran Jones, acupuncturist, will present core principles of healthy eating and healthy living at the monthly classes. Each class will include information on a different advanced subjects such as Alzheimer’s disease, heart health, diet during pregnancy, and dietary choices for emotional health.

Open house set at animal hospital
VCA Central Kitsap Animal Hospital will host a Fall Festival Open House from 11 am to 3pm. Oct. 25th. There will be fun for the whole Family.

Meals on Wheels needs volunteers
The Bremerton area Meals on Wheels program is seeking volunteer home-delivery drivers on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and/or Fridays.
Volunteers deliver hot meals to homebound seniors in the Bremerton area. Time commitment is 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Drivers use their own vehicles, however, mileage reimbursement is available.
The organization is also seeking servers at its community dining sites in East Bremerton and on Bainbridge Island. Time commitment is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call 360-377-8511 weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for more information.
