American Crown Circus at Kitsap County Fairgrounds; 4th of July celebration; memory loss seminar.

Alzheimer’s Assocation memory loss seminar

From 1-4 p.m. Aug. 1, in Silverdale, the Alzheimer’s Assocation is offering an early-stage memory loss seminar. The seminar provides education for those living with mild memory loss. Topics will include basics of dementia, strategies for coping and help planning the next steps. Learn from the experiences of others who understand your situation. Pre-registration is required. American Crown Circus held June 23-26

Starting at 6 p.m. from June 23-26 at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton, the American Crown Circus will be performing. Tickets are $20 for adults. Kitsap Transit Board community meeting

Learn more about Kitsap Transit’s plan to offer half-hour ferry rides to downtown Seattle from the peninsula at the public meeting, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Silverdale Beach Hotel Anchor Room, 3073 NW Bucklin Hill Road. Kitsap Transit’s Executive Director John Clauson will share details about the Cross-Sound Fast Ferry Service plan. Kitsap County will vote on funding the service on the Nov. 8 ballot. Celebration of Life of H. Emily Moshay

A celebration of life in honor of H. Emily Moshay will be held on what was to be her 85th birthday, from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, June 29. 4th of July celebration  hosted in Keyport

Keyport celebrates the 4th of July with classic small-town events.

The community pancake breakfast will start at 8 a.m. July 4 at the Keyport Bible Church Recreation Building, 15270 Washington Ave. The breakfast costs $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and military, $4 for kids age 5-12 and free for kids under 5.

The parade will assemble at 1 p.m. at the fire station on Pacific Avenue.

Barnyard Roundup vacation bible school

From 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 1-5, at Evergreen Lutheran Church, 3200 Seabeck Holly Road. Psalm 23 will be taught through memory verses, songs and activities. Open water swim at Wildcat Lake

Join the Bremerton Family YMCA in an open-water swim, 7:30 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 27. There will be a half-mile swim starting at 9 a.m. and a one-mile swim starting at 9:45 a.m. Each participant receives a commemorative T-shirt and swim cap. Each finisher will receive a medal. Awards will be given to top finishers in each age category. There will also be a raffle and music. The event is open to the public, and costs $30 to register. Submarine technology displayed at museum

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, submarine technology will be featured at the U.S. Naval Undersea Museum. Step inside a real submarine control room in the submarine technology gallery; this recreated control room from a Cold War-era submarine, the USS Greenling (SSN-614) features equipment from the sub, including periscopes, the ship control panel, fire control panel and ballast control panal.

23rd annual Day of Caring on June 24

From 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. June 24, United Way of Kitsap County invites everyone to join in on the annual Day of Caring.

The event will kick off at the Kitsap Sun Pavilion on the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, where volunteers will meet other volunteers, enjoy a continental breakfast, mini-rally and receive T-shirts, bottled water and boxed lunches before heading out to their project sites.

Day of Caring is a great way to lend a hand in the community, providing labor needed to accomplish tasks that aren’t within normal budgets.

Bremerton Symphony Orchestra auditions set

Bremerton Symphony Orchestra, an all-volunteer orchestra under music direction of Alan Futterman, will hold auditions for the upcoming season on Tuesday, Aug. 23, and Tuesday, Sept. 6. Eighth annual Kitsap Wine Festival Aug. 13

BREMERTON – The eighth annual Kitsap Wine Festival at Harborside Fountain Park returns with a celebration of food, wine and community from 2-5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 13.

Tickets are $45 through July 31; $55, Aug. 1-12; $65 at the door, Aug. 13.
