The West Sound Beekeepers Association is bringing in Michael Palmer, a well-traveled speaker, to talk about queen rearing, over wintering hives and operating a sustainable apiary.

Tip-A-Cop Oct. 22 helps Special Olympics
Ever thought of giving an order to a cop and not getting a ticket? Well, for one day only, guests at Red Robin in Silverdale can do just that, for a great cause.
Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office personnel, together with officers from local law enforcement agencies, will trade their handcuffs for aprons and join up with Red Robin Gourmet Burgers, Inc., as part of a nationwide effort to raise funds for Special Olympics programs.
Tip-A-Cop will be from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Red Robin, 10455 Silverdale Way NW.
Money earned by the servers in the form of tips or gratuities is donated to Special Olympics Washington and directly benefits Kitsap County Special Olympics athletes.

Meals on Wheels Kitsap has immediate openings for volunteers to serve meals at the Poulsbo Senior Center on Wednesdays and Pinewood Manor Apartments in Bremerton on Mondays. The time commitment is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. one day a week.

Kitsap County Haunted Fairgrounds
From 5-11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays in October, and Monday, Oct. 31, the Kitsap County Fairgrounds will host the annual haunting. SEEfilm and USS Turner Joy are teaming up to bring you a hauntingly fun movie event for the whole family.
