West Sound Quilting Show; Kitsap Business Forum; Dick's Sporting Goods grand opening

West Sound Quilting Show

From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 30 and Oct. 1, the 2016 annual quilt show will be held at President’s Hall in the Kitsap County Fairgrounds, 1200 Fairgrounds Blvd., Bremerton. Admission is $5 per person.

The show’s theme is “a floral fantasy,” and will feature a virtual walk through a garden of beautiful floral quilts. Almost 300 quilts will be on display, including a narrated quilt turning display three times each day.

This year’s featured artist is Kathleen Littfin, an award-winning quilter. Littfin began quilting 32 years ago.

“What I love most about quilting is that it engages me completely,” Littfin said. “Qualitatively, it satisfies right-brain elements of color, texture and design selection, and couples them with quantitative left-brain elements of math and trigonometry.

“Complete engagement. What more could a person want in an avocation?”

Other attractions including shopping at vendor booths for quilting items; door prizes each hour for all attendees; raffle quilt tickets; a silent auction; and more.
