UPCOMING

SWING DANCE:

The Fine Arts Booster group (KHS FAB) is planning a swing dance and silent auction from 7-11 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Eagles Hall on Lincoln Road in Poulsbo. All proceeds will benefit the arts programs at Kingston High School. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for students and can be purchased at the door, or in advance at Kingston Firehouse Theater, or Whiteley Engineering.

Volunteers are needed to help set up anytime after 10 a.m. Nov. 20 at the Eagles Hall.

THE NUTCRACKER:

Poulsbo’s traditional production of The Nutcracker returns for the 14th consecutive season, with shows beginning Nov. 27. Performances are 7:30 p.m. Nov. 27 and 28 and 2:30 p.m. Nov. 29 at the North Kitsap Auditorium, Poulsbo. Advanced ticket locations: Mills Music, Liberty Bay Books, and Liberty Bay Danceworks. KIWANIS FOOD DRIVE:

Kingston Kiwanis will sponsor an “Apple Cup” food and fund drive for local food banks 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 28 at both Kingston IGA and Kingston Albertsons stores. Have some fun, make your donation on behalf of either the Huskies or the Cougars.

MORNING BOOK GROUP:

Kingston Library’s book discussion group will meet at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, downstairs from the library in the Indianola Room of the community center. “Things Fall Apart” by Chinua Achebe will be the topic of discussion.

YULETIDE AUCTION:

Stillwaters annual Yuletide Auction will be 4-7 p.m. Dec. 5 at the Hood Canal Vista Pavilion at Port Gamble. All proceeds benefit the environmental education programs of Stillwaters. The entry cost is $25 at the door, which includes food and wine or other beverage. Tickets are $20 if purchased in advance. Buy tickets at Stillwaters center on Barber Cutoff or Sacks Feed & Garden in Kingston off State Route 104. CRAFT AND BAKE SALE:

An Eglon holiday craft and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 5 fat the Eglon schoolhouse on Eglon Road N.E. in Kingston.

HANSVILLE CONCERT:

Hansville Community Church welcomes Belarus pop/rock band Spasenie at 6 p.m. Dec. 5.

A CHRISTMAS CAROL:

Kingston Repertory and the Wolfle Elementary School PTA present “A Christmas Carol” Saturdays and Sundays, Dec. 5-19 at Wolfle Elementary School. Saturday shows are 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday shows are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for children under age 12. A family pack of four tickets is $25. On Dec. 12, bring a donation for Kingston’s ShareNet and receive $2 off. Tickets can be bought at the Wolfle PTA office, online at www.kingstonrep.com or at the door.

MOXY OPEN HOUSE:

Moxy Salon in Kingston is hosting their annual Holiday Open House 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 6. Warm up with a free tan and donate to ShareNet. The salon is located at 10954 SR-104, Suite 105 in Kingston.

VILLAGE GREEN:

HANSVILLE HOME TOUR:

Hansville Ladies Aid Christmas Tour of Homes will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 11 Tickets are $10 or $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Hansville Store or call Jenny Householder at (360) 638-2062 or Barbara Lund at (360) 638-2433.

SHARENET BOXES:

The final day of signups for Christmas meal boxes from ShareNet will be Dec. 11. Signups must be done in person during food bank hours, which regularly (non-holiday schedule) are 10a.m. to 2p.m. on Tuesday and Fridays. (see details on page peter 26).

SANTA BREAKFAST:

Wolfle Elementary School will hold their Santa breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Dec. 12 at the school. Events include breakfast, photos with Santa, a silent auction and chances to win raffle baskets. Wolfle is requesting donations of goods and services. A receipt and thank you letter will be sent to all donors. Donations are due by Dec. 4.

KINGSTON HOME TOUR:

Kingston Holiday Home Tour runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The $15 admission ticket allows access to some of Kingston homes and spectacular views. Tickets are available at the Kingston Chamber of Commerce Office, on State Route 104 or at the refreshment stop at Little City Catering One at 26117 Ohio Avenue.

PICTURES WITH SANTA:

Get a free picture with Santa 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 12 at the Kingston Chamber of Commerce off State Route 104, courtesy Kingston Kiwanis.

TREE LIGHTING:

Join the community for a tree lighting ceremony at Mike Wallace Park in Kingston Dec. 12. Santa arrives at 5 p.m. Enjoy refreshments at the port while the Gordon Elementary School choir sings carols.

GALLERY NIGHT:

Kingston Art Gallery’s second Saturday Gallery Night starts at 5 p.m. Dec. 12. Celebrate KAG’s fourth anniversay with sips, savories, sweets, gift ideas, art and artists.

CHRISTMAS PAGEANT:

Hansville Community Church presents the Christmas pageant “A Hansville Christmas 2009” at 7 p.m. Dec. 12, 18 and 19. Local musical group The Prayery Canaries will perform and lead the audience in carols that enhance the story.

CHRISTMAS CANTATA:

AWANA:

Children ages 3 years through sixth grade are invited to join the AWANA Clubs at Kingston Christian Church. Times are from 6:30-8:15 p.m. Wednesdays at the church.

KINGSTON/NK ROTARY:
