POULSBO — Three steps into the new year and the North End just keeps on giving.

The Bellringer Fund collected more than $1,300 during the final week of 2006 and the first days of 2007, even after surpassing its goal. A smattering of anonymous and family donations have put the fund near the $35,000 mark in its final week.

Anyone still wishing to make a donation or hoping to push the total further over the top will have until the end of this week to contribute.

The fund will close Jan. 5.

For now, donations to the fund can be dropped off at the Kitsap Bank branch in Poulsbo Village or the North Kitsap Herald office, 18887 Highway 305, Suite 700.

Donations can also be mailed to Bellringer Fund, P.O. Box 1244, Poulsbo, WA 98370. The help number of the fund is (360) 697-6087.
