Kitsap County officials will be looking into possible adjustments to commissioner boundaries beginning in the new year.

Washington state statute requires that districts are reviewed every 10 years, said Eric Baker, special projects manager with the Kitsap County Commissioners Office. The review is mainly to ensure that each commissioner’s district is equal in population. The county will receive 2010 Census data in April and will determine if any changes need to be made from the last adjustments in 2000. The process will go through Dec. 1, 2011 and the county is open to hearing comments from residents regarding concerns or problems with current district boundaries, Baker said.
