PORT ORCHARD — Kitsap County is undertaking a comprehensive traffic study of the greater Hansville area roadways, specifically the “Hansville loop.” As one component of the study, the county is surveying residents to capture public perceptions about traffic in the area.

Issues will not receive additional attention simply based on a high number of responses in this survey, but survey results will help identify parameters for the independent consultant doing the study. Any recommendation resulting from the comprehensive traffic study will be based on concrete data and implementation will be based on the availability of future funding.

“Roads are a complex combination of conditions that need to be reviewed as a system, not block by block,” said Commissioner Rob Gelder. “This survey helps us do that.”

The survey refers to the system of roads north of where Little Boston and Eglon Road meet Hansville Road. The “Hansville Loop” is composed of Hansville Road, Little Boston Road, Cliffside Road, Hood Canal Road and Twin Spits Road. Only residents of the Greater Hansville Area, and those who travel in the area using these roads, are being asked to participate in the survey. Only one submission per IP address is permitted.

This survey is open from May 7 through midnight on June 7, available at www.surveymonkey.com/s/hansville.
