The following cases were filed in Kitsap County District Court:
• A 27-year-old Suquamish man was charged with assault in the fourth degree after he allegedly acted like he had a gun in his pocket and pointed it at people at the Fred Meyer store March 28. The man told a deputy that people were out to get him. The man was using a rum bottle in a manner that made people think it might be a gun.
• A 19-year-old Bremerton woman was charged with malicious mischief. She allegedly slashed four tires on another woman’s SUV and also keyed the vehicle. The offender was apparently upset that the owner of the vehicle was dating her ex-boyfriend.
• A 51-year-old Bremerton woman was charged with possession of methamphetamine. She allegedly tried to shoplift $154 worth of items at the Port Orchard Walmart March 30. A syringe with meth and blood on it was found in her purse.
• A 29-year-old Bremerton man was charged with attempting to elude pursuing police vehicle. A Washington State Patrol trooper in an aircraft observed two pickup trucks driving 76 and 78 mph on State Route 3 March 30. The speed limit is 60. Another trooper in a patrol vehicle pulled one of the pickups over. As the trooper walked toward the pickup, the driver sped off at a high rate of speed. Troopers chased the truck, which at times drove against traffic. The truck stopped at a residence at the 4000 block of Pine Road in Central Kitsap and the driver got out and ran into the home. He was quickly arrested. Officers allegedly found drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. The man also had warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on a DUI charge.
• A 25-year-old University Place man was charged with assault in the fourth degree, malicious mischief in the third degree and making a false or misleading statement to a public official. He allegedly punched a hole in the wall of someone’s Bremerton home. He told a Bremerton police officer he was moving his items out of the home and tripped. He said he put his hand out to break his fall, and thus put the hole in the wall. But the officer asked why, then, was the hole at eye-level? Two empty alcohol bottles and heroin paraphernalia were also left in the woman’s home, and the toilet was clogged. The man also allegedly stole a credit card. Bail was set at $50,000.
• A 34-year-old Bremerton man was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
• A 38-year-old Bremerton woman was charged with malicious mischief in the third degree after she allegedly threw a brick to the rear window of someone’s car.
• A 27-year-old Port Orchard man was charged with theft in the third degree after he allegedly tried to fraudulently return a $139 air mattress at the Bremerton Walmart.
• A 36-year-old Bremerton man was charged with assault in the fourth degree after he knocked down a bedroom door, pushed a woman and knocked over a coffee table. The man allegedly had been using methamphetamine.
• A 30-year-old Bremerton man was charged with possession of methamphetamine. The man allegedly tried to steal four bottles of wine at a Bremerton Safeway but was stopped by an employee. A sheriff’s deputy found methamphetamine during a pat-down. “(The man) admitted that he was trying to steal the wine but said that he was cooperative and told me that I can just let him go,” the deputy wrote in his report. Bail was set at $50,000.
• A 33-year-old Bremerton man was charged with possession of methamphetamine. The man was allegedly “obviously under the influence of a controlled substance,” according to a Bremerton police officer. The man consented to a search, pulled a meth pipe from his pocket and tossed the pipe into planter box. The man tried to run off after being handcuffed, but was recaptured.
• A 40-year-old Bremerton man was charged with assault in the second degree. He allegedly assaulted a woman.
• A 33-year-old woman was charged with possession of heroin. She allegedly tried to shoplift at a Bremerton store.
• A 40-year-old Silverdale woman was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. She was stopped after a state trooper observed her driving 75 mph in a 60 mph section of State Route 16 April 2. Heroin was found in the vehicle.
