The following cases were filed in Kitsap County District Court:

— Child Rape: A 48-year-old Port Orchard man was charged with child rape in the first degree for having intercourse with a child less than 12 years old. If convicted, the maximum penalty is life imprisonment and/or a $50,000 fine.

— Domestic Assault: A 25-year-old Port Orchard man was charged with domestic violence after allegedly attempting to strangle or suffocate his wife.

— Possession of a Controlled Substance: A 37-year-old Kitsap County man was charged with felony possession of either methamphetamine or the ingredients and paraphernalia to manufacture meth.

— Armed Robbery:  On July 9, felony charges were filed against a 42-year-old Kitsap County man accused of unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree and a second count of attempted armed robbery.

— Second-Degree Assault: Felony assault charges were filed against a 26-year-old Kitsap County man for Assault in the second degree.

— Assault and Firearms Possession:  Felony charges were filed against a 44-year-old Kitsap County woman for assault in the first degree and unlawful possession of a firearm in the second degree.

— Assault and Unlawful Firearms Possession: Felony charges were filed against a 32-year-old Kitsap man for second degree burglary, as well as unlawful possession of a firearm.

— Drug Possession:  A 53-year-old Kitsap County woman had charges filed against her for felony unlawful possession of a controlled substance, this time the opiate Oxycodone.

— First Degree Driving with License Revoked: A 35-year-old man had felony charges filed against him for first degree driving without his license. Exacerbating circumstances are that the Department of Licensing reported the man was a habitual offender.

— Drug Possession: Felony charges were filed against a 27-year-old Olalla man for possession of methamphetamine. The suspect’s street name was Dougie Fresh.
