The officer saw a “clear, yellowish colored liquid dripping from the bottom of the door onto the ground. I asked (the man) if he had spilled anything or urinated, and he said he did not and claimed the fluid must be ‘brake fluid,’” the officer wrote. A Washington State Patrol trooper arrived and woke the man up. The man had slurred speech, could not hold his head up and could not walk without being supported. “(The man) would start to fall asleep and walk into the wall before bouncing back upright,” the trooper wrote. The trooper obtained a search warrant to draw a sample of the man’s blood.
